Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana pays courtesy call on leadership of Presbyterian Church of Ghana
The leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) played host to the Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana the Right Rev Dr Paul Boafo on a courtesy visit on Thursday 8th November 2018 at the Church’s headquarters at Osu in Accra.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the ecumenical relationship between the two churches and to formally introduce the new hierarchy of the Methodist Church Ghana to the leadership of the PCG.

The Acting Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG Rev Dr. Victor Okoe Abbey, in a remark while receiving the guests expressed his appreciation to the Methodist Church for the visit and for the long standing relationship between the two churches.

He called for strong collaboration between the two churches in order to continue Christ's work of building an inclusive and indivisible society.

The Presiding Bishop in a statement said the ecumenical relationship between the two churches date back the days of the missionaries.

He commended the leadership of the PCG for their exemplarily leadership which had seen the Church moving in the right direction.

He pledged that the two churches would continue to collaborate and also work hand in hand.

The Moderator elect of the PCG, Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante in a short speech congratulated the Right Dr Boafo on his nomination, election and induction as the Presiding Bishop of the of one of the oldest churches in Ghana.

Rev Prof. Mante expressed the need for leaders to uphold integrity and humility, accountability, unity and peace to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

He assured that the two churches would continue to work together to find solutions to the numerous challenges confronting members of the churches in particular and Ghanaian society in general.

The Presiding Bishop was accompanied by the Rt. Rev. Michael Agyakwa Bossman, Administrative Bishop of the Church, Rev Godwill O. Anthony, Director of Human Resource Management, Bother Brantuo, Lay President and Very Rev Dr. Henry Ampay-Asiedu, Publicf Relations Officer

Present at the meeting were Rev Dr Samuel Ayete-Nyampong, Clerk of General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev David Aboagye Dankwa, Properties Manager, PCG and Rev George Larbi, Public Relations Officer.
